An evening stroll on Dartmoor
Today at Moorview we have enjoyed a beautiful hot sunny day with a slight Dartmoor breeze. In the cool of the evening, we set off for a lovely walk over the moors with a group of friends.
We parked at the Visitors Centre in the middle of Princetown where parking is free after 6pm.
Our walk started on the eastern edge of Princetown and we set off across open moorland, being watched by hill sheep and cattle, until we reached a gate at the start of the "Conchie Road".
The "Conchie Road" has an interesting history which you can read about if you follow the link at the foot of this post. From there we walked for a while enjoying the beautiful views and the ever changing skies. After we had been walking for about 45 minutes, we decided to turn back so that we could round the evening off with quick well earned drink and a meal at the local pub.
If we had continued on the "Conchie Road" we would have ended up in Hexworthy!
